For Q1 2024, based on preliminary analysis, NB Private Markets currently anticipates that buyout funds (including growth equity) will increase in value by an average of 1.3% in USD while venture capital funds will decrease in value by 1.2% in USD on average. For the last twelve months, preliminary reporting indicates that buyout funds increased by a value of 7.5% in USD while venture capital funds decreased by a value of 3.6% in USD.

As private equity funds begin to report their Q1 2024 valuations, NB Private Markets proactively monitors these releases and performs analysis to obtain a preliminary sense of valuation changes in the private markets. Our analysis is conducted off a broad sample of private equity funds and can be useful in formulating forward-looking expectations for valuation marks.
